ST MARK'S CHURCH
HEALTH AND SAFETY
As with safeguarding, the health and safety of everyone is important to us at St Mark's and our H&S policy has, among others, the following objectives:
✓ To prevent accidents and cases of ill health by managing health and safety risks.
✓ Engage and consult with church and hall users on safety needs whenever deemed necessary.
✓ Implement emergency procedures – evacuation in case of fire or other significant incident.
✓ Maintain safe and healthy conditions, maintain equipment and ensure safe storage/use of any hazardous substances.
✓ Ensure there is a system in place for routine safety inspections and that action is taken to address any defects.
✓ Ensure that toilets, washing facilities and drinking water are available.
✓ Prepare a risk assessment for any task which indicates the need and to review assessments regularly.
✓ In general, identify risks and consequences and reduce these to as Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
First aid boxes and accident record booklets are available in The Sacristy and the hall kitchen. There is also a portable defibrillator and an eye-wash station in the kitchen.
